I want to know in your opinion what you think would happen if one day an extremely skilled, talented and diciplined forex trader took £100, and doubled it every day for a year which I know isn’t even possible, but if they managed to, and managed to corner and accumulate the currency markets worldwide, what would the govenments and people of the world do about it if someone did this?

Answer:

Firstly, there isn’t anywhere near enough money on the planet for someone to double their money every day. Do the maths and you’ll see that you end up with well over 10^100 pounds – which is billions of pounds for every proton in the universe!!

But even the greatest traders do not come anywhere near doubling their money in a day. They make profits by trading vast sums on tiny margins. A 1% profit in a day is excellent if you were trading with £10 million.

And in any case there is a limited supply of currency, which is small compared to the reserves held by governments (of their own and other major world currencies). If one trader (or bank) bought up all the available Pounds Sterling, the impact would not be catastrophic. And to do so would mean they probably had to spend all their reserves of other currencies, which is a highly risky strategy.

The national government that issues a currency has a number of defence mechanisms to avoid any possibility of this kind of thing. EG they could set interest rates to zero, meaning the trader holding the currency would not be earning anything on his holdings. So he would have to sell, which would lower the price, so he might end up with a loss. Or a government could take even more extreme measures such as devaluing the currency.

In economic terminology , a stock broker is basically in simple terms a Licensed agent who has to pass certain qualifying tests to be certified to offer securities investment advice to investors .Investors are people who buy shares of stock . He or she may counsel what and when to buy, counsel whether to hold or sell securities, execute buy-sell orders on behalf of the investors,
and charge a percentage of the transaction amount as brokerage fee for commission

A traders biggest enemy is his emotions. Every trader experiences fear and greed and this is the number one reason why most traders fail. I also found it very difficult to stick to my systems rules because I lacked discipline. In order to be a successful trader you need to be able to stick to your trading system and control your emotions. However as you probably already found out for yourself this is easier said than done. First: which ones to avoid. There are many “scam forums” in the Forex world. www.forexpeacearmy.com is a well known fake review and forum site: fake forex reviews, self promoting own services. Avoiding scams is becoming an art in Forex trading. Be very wary.

OK so,

www.babypips.com has a nice educational section. I like www.forexfactory.com which I recently found myself for A.I in Forex trading for instance. Lots of nice people on the forum, good calender (if you use it, I don’t)

After watching Rogue Trader I have become more interested in how you can manipulate the market with huge amounts of money.

How exactly would you do this for example on the Forex Markets?

Answer:

In theory yes, but in practice it would take many billions of dollars. Big government-sponsored banks sometimes come into the market to drive up one currency or drive down another and it’s effective for a short while but even they can’t prop up a currency forever if it’s crappy and going to fall.

Are there people in the world who day trade forex for a living? I’ve read so many articles bashing day trading as gambling and impossible to make money, but I also read some forex trader interview who just trade a few hours a day and make a good living. Is it true?

I trade FX as well as stocks and I used to be a professional trader.

Succesful trading really has to do with emotional control and dscipline because its based on odds. The odds are usually not higher than 55:45 in your favor so expect to lose fairly often. It is extremely nerve wracking and it takes lots of money you can AFFORD to lose to do succesfully as a professional. Most likely at least 25K. It also takes years to learn and often with huge losses. You make the big money in usually only 20% of the time, the rest try not to get torn up in the markets. Its a good job for adrenaline junkies but its not for everyone.

Yes people say 90% of people fail to make it, however so do 90% of doctors and lawyers. Its about how much you want it and how hard you wanna work at it. But it most definitely IS possible.

What is the legality on this? How much money can I trade before having to register with U.S. Securities?

You can have any kind of hedge fund you want.

The key is you need certain registration, the right fund docs, the right corporate structure, and the right legal advice which can cost you -50,000 in total depending on your structure.

The hardest part is you will have to find qualified investors who are willing to invest with you.
